BUSBAR SYSTEMS FOR BASE METAL REFINING

Tank House-SA has over 10 years’ experience in working on base metal refinery projects for metals such as:

Copper
Zinc
Nickel
Cobalt

Over the last 20 years we have seen a significant growth in hydro metallurgical refining with an increase in the use of electrowinning refining technology as opposed to the more traditional pyro metallurgical process, also known as electrorefining. MSS has been able to develop our busbar system project designs to work with both electrowinning and electrorefining applications.

Tank House-SA is able to design bespoke, cost competitive, electrically efficient busbar systems to individual project requirements working with the plant owner or EPCM contractor as well as interfacing with the rectifier supplier and project suppliers of other key equipment such as the cells and cell top furniture.

BUSBAR SYSTEMS FOR CHORINE REFINING

Tank House-SA has over 30 years’ experience in working on the supply of busbar systems for Chlorine refineries as well as busbars and other components for chlorine electrolysers. Our busbar systems are primarily used on projects producing:

Chlorine Dioxide
• Caustic Soda
• Bleaching Agents
• Liquid Chlorin

Tank House-SA team were involved in the supply of busbar systems and components for the original introduction of electrolysers at scale as a process to produce chlorine products as an alternative to using mercury. We have subsequently worked on many of the world leading chlorine installations over the last 30 years. These projects have included new electrolyser installations as well as technology conversion projects changing over plant process technology from mercury to ‘clean’ electrolyser technology.

Since 2028 TSA has been working with customers on providing busbar solutions for Green Hydrogen production plants. The production of Green Hydrogen is increasing rapidly, and we have seen increased demand from customers in Europe and North America for tailored busbar system solutions for different process routes for Hydrogen production.
